Ann Fudge was a black woman who shattered glass ceilings while serving as the CEO of Young and Rubicam Brands.

Students of all majors can apply for this scholarship, however, eligibility is limited to college students entering into their sophomore, junior or senior year.

  • Minimum GPA of 2.3 on 4.0 scale.
  • Black/African American Female.

2. Blacks At Microsoft Scholarship

  • Offered by: Microsoft Corporation

Apart from offering financial aid, Microsoft is also a network designed to help inspire African American students to collaborate and grow within the Microsoft Corporation.

This scholarship is usually awarded to students in engineering, computer science and certain business programs. The students are usually awarded a grant of $5,000.

3. American Chemical Society( ACS) Scholars Program

  • Offered by: ACS United States

ACS is founded and chartered by the United States Congress in 1876, and it is now the world’s largest scientific society.

To be selected as an ACS scholar, students must demonstrate high academic performance throughout their high school career while also showing a desire to enter into the field of chemistry.

Students are usually awarded with a grant of $5,000 yearly which amounts to $20,000 for four years.

4. Pacific Gas & Electric Company Black ERG Scholarship

  • Offered by: Pacific Gas & Electric Company.

Established in 1905,Pacific Gas & Electric Company is now the supplier of electricity and natural gas to over two- thirds of California.

They started different initiatives to work with people to help invest back into the community.

It offers these grants as an incentive to attract bright African American students. Students are usually offered $ 5,000 to enroll in any college of their choice.

5. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

  • Offered by : US Department of State

Jointly funded by US Department of State and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The scholarship was created in honour of late Benjamin A. Gilman from New York. He was the creator of International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000.

This scholarship was created to help students from low backgrounds and limited financial means.

It has been in operation since the year 2001. Anyone offered the scholarship is awarded $ 5,000 to settle college tuition.

6. The Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship acknowledges student with high leadership and personal skills and also an excellent academic record. Students that are eligible are to complete FAFSA.
